Composite decking
No annual sanding or staining, and no splinters underfoot. Boards lighten slightly through the first season, then hold their colour. Fixed with hidden clips so there are no screw heads on show.
Decking
A beautifully built deck extends your living space into the garden, creating a stylish area for dining, entertaining and relaxing. SP Outdoor Solutions designs and installs bespoke composite and timber decking across County Durham and the North East, using quality materials and properly constructed sub-frames. We’ll help you choose the right decking for your garden, lifestyle and maintenance needs, ensuring the finished space looks great and performs for years.
why choose us
A pergola is a significant garden structure that deserves to be designed properly and built to last. SP Outdoor Solutions creates each pergola specifically for the property and garden, ensuring the size, style and materials complement the surrounding space.
We focus on quality construction and careful finishing to create a structure that feels intentional, practical and built for long-term use. From the initial design through to installation, every detail is considered.
WHAT WE OFFER
Composite and timber decking designed and installed to create practical, stylish outdoor living spaces built to last.
No annual sanding or staining, and no splinters underfoot. Boards lighten slightly through the first season, then hold their colour. Fixed with hidden clips so there are no screw heads on show.
Softwood costs less up front and wants treating every couple of years. Hardwood costs more and lasts longer. We will tell you which makes sense for how you actually use the garden.
On a sloping garden, two or three linked platforms sit better than one large deck propped high at the far end — and they give you separate areas for dining and sitting.
Consistent riser heights on every flight, and a level threshold where the deck meets the back door so there is nothing to catch your foot on.
Timber, composite, glass or wire infill. Guarding is generally required once the drop from the deck exceeds 600mm, so this is often a regulation rather than a choice.
Benches and planters framed into the sub-frame rather than stood on top of it. Fixed seating gives you more usable space than furniture you have to store each winter.
Recessed deck lights and step lighting, with the cable runs set into the sub-frame before the boards go on. Retrofitting means lifting boards, so it is decided now.
Pergola posts carried down through the deck to their own footings, not bolted to the surface. Designed in from the start, which is the only point it can be done properly.
The old boards and sub-frame taken out, the ground underneath cleared and levelled, and everything removed from site and disposed of responsibly.
