Composite decking
No annual sanding or staining, and no splinters underfoot. Boards lighten slightly through the first season, then hold their colour. Fixed with hidden clips so there are no screw heads on show.
fencing
The right fencing and gates add privacy, security and character to your outdoor space. SP Outdoor Solutions designs and installs premium fencing and bespoke gates across County Durham and the North East, from contemporary fencing to custom garden and entrance gates built around your property.
why choose us
Bespoke gates and fencing require careful planning as well as quality workmanship. SP Outdoor Solutions designs every installation to complement your property while providing the privacy, security and durability you need.
We consider the materials, proportions, access requirements and surrounding landscaping to ensure the finished result feels like a natural part of your outdoor space. Using quality materials and proven installation methods, we create fencing and gates that look great, perform reliably and are built to last.
WHAT WE OFFER
Quality fencing and bespoke gates designed for privacy, security and a professional finish.
No annual sanding or staining, and no splinters underfoot. Boards lighten slightly through the first season, then hold their colour. Fixed with hidden clips so there are no screw heads on show.
Softwood costs less up front and wants treating every couple of years. Hardwood costs more and lasts longer. We will tell you which makes sense for how you actually use the garden.
On a sloping garden, two or three linked platforms sit better than one large deck propped high at the far end — and they give you separate areas for dining and sitting.
Consistent riser heights on every flight, and a level threshold where the deck meets the back door so there is nothing to catch your foot on.
Timber, composite, glass or wire infill. Guarding is generally required once the drop from the deck exceeds 600mm, so this is often a regulation rather than a choice.
Benches and planters framed into the sub-frame rather than stood on top of it. Fixed seating gives you more usable space than furniture you have to store each winter.
Recessed deck lights and step lighting, with the cable runs set into the sub-frame before the boards go on. Retrofitting means lifting boards, so it is decided now.
Pergola posts carried down through the deck to their own footings, not bolted to the surface. Designed in from the start, which is the only point it can be done properly.
The old boards and sub-frame taken out, the ground underneath cleared and levelled, and everything removed from site and disposed of responsibly.
